1 Killed, 1 Injured In St. Petersburg Crash At 1st Avenue South And 51st Street South

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A fatal collision occurred this morning (September 11, 2024) at the intersection of 1st Avenue South and 51st Street South.

A silver Infinity sedan and a white Ford Ranger collided, causing both vehicles to veer off the road. Tragically, the driver of the Ford was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The Infinity’s driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where they are currently in stable condition.

Authorities are withholding the names of those involved until their families are notified.

The accident resulted in significant traffic disruptions, with eastbound lanes on 1st St. S. and both northbound and southbound lanes on 51st St. S. closed for over five hours to facilitate the investigation.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
